Dear Family,
Wow ! Life sure is good. We had all of the boys and our daughter in laws ( including Tiffany who is to be one soon ) come and visit us. What a blessing. And they came when we could spend some time with them. It was really good. Then Roylene and I flew to Kosovo and met with members and investigators there. I was able to meet with two of the young men that we baptized in 2006 and interview them for the Melchizedek Priesthood. That was a first for this area of the world. One of them Burim Vraniqi will be also receiving his Endowments in September. The other one Ali Shehu is now in Iowa going to school. It was a miracle that I was able to meet with him as he was suposed to leave earlier, but miraculously he could not get a visa until after he was ordained. Also his father died just before he left and he was able to talk to him before hand. He is a special young man and the Lord is very much aware of him. It is not by chance that these things happen as they do. We had sacrament meeting on August 19th in Kosovo with 17 in attendence and 5 were investigators. After sacrament I did the ordinations and gave two other priesthood blessings. What an experience. The next saturday August 25th we flew to Zurich Switzerland and attended the Bern Temple and then had the Mission Presidents Seminar held at Grinderwald Switzerland with Elder Dieter F.Uchtdorf and his wife and Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Seven Presidents of the Seventy and his wife. Also our new Area Presidency Elder Robert C. Oaks, Elder Erich Kopischke, and Elder Johann A. Wondra and their wives. What a spiritual feast. It is amazing to have these experiences. We cried as Elder Uchtdorf testified that the Lord knew us personally and then he pronounced a Apostolic Blessing. And that was in his opening remarks on sunday. We were with them until wednesday morning when we had to take the bus to the airport and return to Ljubljana Airport. We had the bumpiest airplane ride because of storms on the way home. It is only a one hour and fifteen minutes flight. Now we must improve the mission by doing many things that we were taught. Or more accurately reminded of. Preach My Gospel is such a wonderful tool. I would recommend that you read it if you have not. Also do the looking up of the scriptures and the other exercises. It will be a blessing to you. This tuesday we pick Elder Kopischke up at the airport and do a mission tour with a mission council and then three Zone Conferences and at the end a District Conference in Zagreb for Croatia District. Elder Kopischke will preside. I wish you could have heard Roylene as she bore her testimony and gave the closing prayer. It was vey special. She continues to impress me with her talents and her dedication. I am really blessed to be with her. Aaron and Tiffany please enjoy the temple experience and don't let yourself feel the pressure of the day. Just enjoy one another and the opportunity to be with family. Even family that will be in attendence from beyond the veil. I love you and wish you a happy eternity together. Please give all of the grandchildren our best and give them a big hug for us. Love Dad
