Dear Family,
This has been an interesting week. We have been home all week. We cancelled a trip to Zadar Croatia as Elvi Rwankuba was baptized on saturday the 5th of May. He requested that I speak at the baptism. I had some things prepared including scriptures, but the spirit took over and I never even opened the notes or the scriptures. His father and mother and brother were there along with two friends. I could tell that he is good because of his parents. They were against his baptism, but they came and supported him. His father is black and from Africa and his mother is Slovene. They were touched by the spirit of the baptism. Roylene even had to pass a few tissues to his mom. I also was ask by him to confirm him and to confir upon him the Aaronic Priesthood. The confirmation took place in sacrament meeting and then he was sustained for the Priesthood and then in Priesthood meeting I was able to ordain him a Priest. He also bore his testimony in fast and testimony meeting. It was a very mature testimony. Very sincere and complete. We met him in our home not too long after our arrival in the mission field and Roylene had the Elders bring him to dinner and then a lesson. I remember telling him at that occasion that he needed to pray more for an answer. I told him if I put his head under water and held him under, that he would fight for air. I then told him he needed to pray as hard for an answer as he would fight for air. He needs to want to know if this is true as bad as he wants to breath. He remembered that experience. I feel that he can bring others into the church and he could do that very soon. He is a leader with other students. I can not wait to see what happens. It will be interesting to look back lets say 10 years from now and see how things that happen now layed the ground work for even greater success. It will be fun to see how the saints here grow. I have to go to the church now for a meeting regarding a Slovene website for the church. Lots of love to each of you. Jordan Peterson keep on keeping on. I remember when I had some unexpected health problems. It took awhile to get better. But how greatful I am for how that changed my life for the better. It refined me alot and changed even the course of my vocation. I and Sister Weight love you and we pray for you along with many others. God knows the begining to the end and he knows what is best for all of us. Just tell him you will go where he wants you to go and you will do it in his time and in his way. Just ask him to let you know what his will is. Love all of you.
Dad (Doug and President Weight)
