Dear Family,
We have really been busy and traveled 10 of the last 12 days. We presided over a District Conference in Croatia and changed the District Presidency and also my first counselor in the mission. It is the first time in my life that I can remember someone voting against me. One brother did. Then we came home and had one day to wash and prepare to go again to Croatia for Zone Conference. But we also picked up two couples from the airport and Roylene fed them and the Hansens took one couple to their city and Roylene and I took the other couple to Zagreb. My two assistants met us there and took our car with the other couple and their luggage to the city they will serve in. We did interviews in Croatia and Zone Conference and traveled to Serbia and I did interviews the next day and met with my second counselor in the evening for 2 1/2 hours. Then Zone Conference in Serbia and travel back to Zagreb. On sunday we changed the Branch Presidency in Zagreb as the former President was called to be the new District President the week before. During sacrament meeting I was the final speaker and felt prompted to apoligize to the man who voted against me the week before. I did it at the begining of my talk. It was amazing to see the change in him during sunday school and during Priesthood Meeting. I hope that he has a change of heart. It is good to say I am sorry even when we are not at fault. Every one who is married must learn to do that. So why not in the church. We then brought Elder and Sister Chabries home with us as their mission was completed. We spent monday with them in Slovenia showing some of the sights and sent them off this morning for Salt Lake City. Roylene came down with a sore throat and cough yesterday and she is trying to get some rest today. Tomorrow I have interviews in Slovenia and then on thursday we have Zone Conference in Ljubljana for Slovenia. On monday we have missionaries come in for their final interview and meal and on tuesday we send them home. And we receive 13 new missionaries. One of them is a local Sister that will serve a mini mission for four months. So far we are running double the baptisms as last year. I hope we can keep that up all year. It would be great to double them two years in a row. Some of our converts are really strong and they are blessing the church already as well as themselves. We hope to set the ground breaking for the Zagreb Chapel for the 31 March. It is General Conference but if we do it in the a.m. it will be ok as we are 8 hours ahead of Utah time. There are many obstacles to overcome everday. We see that Satan (or ole Scratch as I call him), is working hard against us. But this just confirms to us that we are heading the right direction. We continue to see miracles. It is really a joy to witness the hand of the Lord in this work. It is his work and we just get the blessing of being involved. We could not accomplish anything with out the spirit and his influence. Thank you for your faith and prayers. Please continue to pray for us and continue to be faithful in your own lives. Love ya all. Dad
