Dear Family,
We sure had a wonderful experience at the Mission Presidents Seminar held in Dresden Germany. It was presided over by Elder Ballard. We also had Elder Tingey (he is the one that set Roylene apart as a missionary), and Elder Jon Huntsman. He is the father of our Governor. His son is married to Elder Ballard's daughter. It was fun to see them interact with each other. They flew in one of Elder Huntsmans jets. We were on the end of a 8 day road trip of their doing training. On sunday they passed the sacrament and Roylene received it from Elder Ballard. We also were ask to offer the opening and closing prayers. It was a very spiritual experience. They taught us to really change attitudes and to believe in miracles and to move the work forward. It was great to hear the same things that we have been focussing on. The days were long but it was great. On saturday of the trip it was our 40th wedding aniversary. They had a gourmet dinner that night in a five star hotel. We were ask after to come up as it became known that it was our anniversary. It was fun and special. Fortunately Elder Ballard and Tingey and Huntsman were not there as they met with some of the Senventies at that hour. That same day was the 800th birthday of the city of Dresden, Germany where we were and they had a huge fireworks display that night. We stayed up and went to them with a couple of other mission presidents and their wives. It was quite a anniversary all in all. Imagine for your anniversary sitting with and Apostle half way around the world in Europe and then a gourmet meal and then fireworks. I told Roylene that I could not arrange it any better. It was fun. We have been charged and trained to get the missionaries to talk to more people to find investigators and to get member missionary work going. It is exciting to have the challenge of doing it. We are on the way up so I hope we can now excellerate it. We got home from the trip and held Mission Council with the leaders of the missionaries. I also met last night with the District President of Croatia. He now has the expectation and work of getting members to get involved. I hope the Lord will continue to bless us with inspiration to do His work the way He wants it done. We love each of you and ask that you continue to pray for our missions success. Love Dad
