Dear Family,
Another huge miracle in this mission just occured. We ( The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ) have just received official recognition under the new law by the Minister of Religion in Serbia. Our application was approved. The church chose to apply even though the law could be objected to. Some religions such as the Baptist did not apply but chose to fight. I think the fact that we tried to comply and make application helped us especially since some others chose not to apply. It made us look better. After all we believe in sustaining and upholding the law of the land. When we started this last year and we had a short time to get signatures there was alot of confusion on what we needed to do. But as I went there with Elder Wondra I had confirmation that the church would be blessed for doing this. The current members would also be blessed. It was a faith promoting experience. What a blessing it is to have promptings from the spirit. I by myself could not do this, but with the Spirit of the Lord on our side all things are possible. Promptings to get the work done come everyday. Answers to different situations come as fast as the question is ask or the situation occurs. It is a special experience. I will be eternally greatful for this because one can not experience this and not feel blessed. I have always had many experiences of the spirit and the truthfulness of the gospel and the work we are engaged in.
What a glorious blessing. And to have Roylene by myside. Every couple should go on a mission. It is a rich and rewarding experience. You seem to learn more from reading the scriptures when you are actively engaged in missionary work. That alone is a great blessing. Thank you for all of your prayers. See they do make a difference. The church is finally going forward in Serbia. I expect more leaders to be baptized this year and membership to grow beyond anything experienced before. In 2003 there was one baptism. In 2004 there were four. In 2005 there were eleven. In 2006 we had twenty four. Goals for 2007 are to have Fourty Six. Things are going the right direction. Thought you might want to hear this up close account. Love you and keep offering those prayers. Infact give one of thanks.
Love Dad
