Dear Family,
Just a short note to update you. I held a Assistants Planning Meeting the day after Christmas. We are trying something new to fine the elect. In President Monson's dedicatory prayer he ask: "Grant that they (youth) may be approached in great numbers." We are going to hold lectures for youth intitled "What Do Mormons Believe". We think that after trying it a few times we will be able to get large numbers to sign up for the lectures. They will focus on finding the elect to then set up and teach the lessons to. We will be bold in the lectures teaching that baptism with authority is necessary. We will also have a lecture about life and death, one about living prophets, and one about the scriptures. We will modify as we learn. I felt that this will be like Nephi going for the brass plates. He had to try multiple times before succeeding. On the 27 we left to tour the mission and do interviews. We returned on sunday evening the 30th Dec. Then on monday we went shopping for food for a group of sister members that had a New Years Eve Party at our house. They finally went to bed or left for home at 4am. Two stayed all night and we drove them home the next day at noon. They had a great time and they got to know each other and bond together. It was great. We have been home all of this week. That is getting to be a special time. Just being home and catching up on emails and other things. I did have a meeting with the superintendant of the construction of the Ljubljana and Zagreb Chapels. Hopefully they will be done on the time table that is currently projected. Ljubljana turned to the local priesthood end of June 2008 and Zagreb Feb 2009. These facilities will be such a blessing for the church in so many ways. We leave on another Mission Tour with our Area President (Elder Robert C. Oaks) on tuesday. This will be our fourth one in two and a half years. I told Roylene that I must need more supervision than other mission presidents. Well I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday together. We enjoyed the time here. Love to alll of you.
Dad
PS. We are finally getting some more senior couples during the next month. Visas are starting to happen for Slovenia also.
