Merry Christmas
And
Happy New Year
2006
Year 2005 was full of challenges, trials and blessings as well. In October 2004 Ivan lost his job and he’s still without it nevertheless he wrote many applications. He had many interviews but the result is kind of “more luck next time”. Rosana consider this as a blessing. She worked hard on her family genealogy research. She was able to find more that 500 names of her ancestors. Our goal for 2005 was to go to the Frankfurt Temple as a family. In last week of April we have been “on the Road again” toward the Temple. Davor and Barbara went there for the first time and they were doing baptisms for the Dead. At that occasion Davor also received wonderful Patriarchal blessing. The time we have spent together in the Temple was wonderful experience for everyone in the family. From Barbara’s words “Let’s go back to the Temple” on the way home we can see that children really enjoyed the time we spent in Frankfurt. On the way home we stopped at Buffalo farm. SMALL GUY ON THE PICTURE IS SAMUEL.
In former Yugoslavia on 25 of May we used to celebrate President Tito’s birthday or Youth Day. However, our family will remember that day by Ivan’s accident with his horse. The Emergency took Ivan to Clinical Center in Ljubljana where they found that all “tendnce” in his left knee were tearing apart. We found out that even the horse can not seriously hurt Ivan even if the horse would jump on him☺.
»Love others, as I have love you«.
Samuel’s best friend.
In the beginning of June Rosana went to Frankfurt for Seminary and Institute Training. She was especially happy because Elder Tom L. Perry was there also. In second half of June Ivan had to go back to another hospital because they found out that now he has blood coagulation which is very dangerous. For those who don’t know, every horse should have a goat as a companion. Then diseases go on goat and not on horse. It’s obviously that Ivan is “goat” in our family because all major diseases and accidents go on him so that the rest of the family members are OK and healthy. ☺.
In July we had Youth Conference in Thermal place Catez. There were more than 90 young people from Slovenia and Croatia, including our Family (Rosana and Ivan were helping with program and kids have fun time). We have been privileged with an opportunity to help with the organization. Davor, Barbara, Sarah and Samuel enjoyed the Spiritual games and in many different pools. After the Youth Conference, Davor and Barbara went to Germany (Nürnberg) together with Brother Fingerle Family (Nürnberg) where they stayed for three wonderful weeks. They spent a week in “Zion Camp”, where they meet a lot of new friends. On 31 of August, our new family member REBEKA Majc joined us. She was 53 cm long and 4230 g weight. We were so happy and hardly wait that she will be with us. This was truly specially and happy time for whole family especially because Rosana and baby Rebeka were fine. We are so grateful for our Heavenly Father’s love because He sends us this wonderful angel so we can take care of her.
Ooo it’s so nice
Yep, I agree.
In September the new school year begun and vacation was just a nice memory. Sarah is attending the third grade, Barbara ninth and Davor has two more in Economics High School in Kranj. Sarah got ill again because of asthma, therefore she was in the hospital for couple of days. But she liked the bed because it could go up and down, front and back, …Sarah started her second year at Music school, Barbara continues playing violin (third year) and Davor is getting better and better on computer (including games). This year Samuel started attending the Music school as well and he’s looking forward to see other kids he can play with, learn about instruments and get teacher crazy☺. In October Davor celebrated his 17 birthday and Ivan prepared special surprise for him. Davor was thinking that Ivan was taking him to the hairdresser “to look even more handsome” but he took him to the shooting place. Davor had opportunity to see that handgun is something completely different than what we see on TV. However, it was not easy to hit the target as people do in some movies. When Ivan loaded Magnum 357 and when he saw and heard power of it he got a little bit nervous for a moment.
In November Barbara celebrated her 14 birthday. She became real Young woman (warning to all boys-her dad is ... be careful☺). She’s good in school, good in practicing violin and at home and she likes to spent time with her new little sister Rebeka.
In Ljubljana Branch we have been blessed by visit by respected guest from Church in SLC, Sister Margaret S. Lifferth, First Counselor in Primary and Sister Susan W. Tanner, General Young Women President. Our Family had special privilege for both sisters been in our home. We could spend few, but memorable moments. This was special and important moment for Rosana since she serves as a
Young Women President and for Barbara as Young Woman. Ivan, as a teacher in Primary was also happy, for he received good ideas about how to teach and love the youngest in our Church.
In December Ivan, as a First Counselor in Slovenia-Croatia Mission, had a great opportunity to go along with Douglas L. Weight, Slovenia-Croatia Mission President, in Belgrade because Serbia again became a part of our Mission. At that occasion Ivan met the “old” Mission President from Bulgaria, President Jeffrey P. Johnson and the “old” Area President for Eastern Europe, President Neuschwander. There were also “new” Mission President, President Weight and “new” Area President for Central Europe, President Hafen. In our midst was also Belgrade/Serbia District President, President Vucenovic.
Merry Christmas and
A Happy New Year
