Dear Family, Thank you for your emails. Last week we attended youth conference thursday,
Friday and saturday. It was attended by about 70 youth. About 10 were investigators. Some
of them have strong testimonies and others are new to their study of the gospel. It was a fun
and spiritual experience. We were even interviewed by a Slovenia television station. They
filmed me and ask questions. All I could do was think of President Hinckley and all he has
done with the media. After the video I presented a copy of the Book of Mormon to the interviewer along with the Articles of Faith and a Joseph Smith pamplet. I also invited them to
have lunch with us. They graciously accepted. Before they left the man that I gave the materials to ( the one that interviewed me ) introduce me to his wife and baby son. I talked to the baby boy and got him to smile for me. He was really cute. I was really pleased that one young lady investigator (who has a testimony but her parents won't let her be baptized) sang.
It was outside and other people who were at the same resort all stopped and came out of
their rooms to see. Then later as the youth danced we saw the same thing. Only our senior
mission couples were at the conference,so they were busy talking to people and giving
them literature. Before we left on saturday I was to be the concluding speaker. So before
the opening prayer I lead them in the song Wadley Ahchy. They loved it and all participated.
I committed them in my talk to honor Joseph Smith by preparing someone for the missionaries
to teach. Then I bore my testimony and opend it up for a few others to bare theirs. Some
of them said they already know who they are supposed to approach. Sunday we left at 6:30
am for church at Karlovac. We both spoke in sacrament. I had about 35 minutes. Sister
Weight prepared a lunch for the four elders, the Branch President and us and the
mission office couple that went with us. After I met with the Branch Pres. and committed
him to getting married. The Elders taught him their lesson on Joseph Smith and
committed him to prepare someone to be taught. Today we met with our first Elders scheduled to go home. Sister Weight prepared a meal for eight. She probably is feeling
like she is raising a family all over again. I am blessed with a wonderful companion and I
don't have to experience a change in my companion. Life is great. Thank you Aaron,
Mitch, Laney, Pat, Tammy, Andy, and Mom for your emails. We love all of you. Todd
your can now send me an official answer to this. I really enjoyed your pictures Mitch and
Andy. How do I retreive them from Yahoo. How do I save them correctly? It said they were
saved, but I don't know where. Love Dad
