Dear Family,
Well another week zoomed by. We received Sisters Ashton and Rodabough and Elder and Sister Blatter. We sent home Elder Rogers who was serving in Serbia. He left a few weeks ahead of when I would have released him, but the former mission President who was in charge of Serbia already had this scheduled. I have called two more Assistants and they cover Slovenia and sometimes Serbia. And the other two Assistants cover Croatia and sometimes Serbia. I always will try to have one Assistant from each of the three countries. That way I will always have a resident expert to help me. I am going to change District Presidents in Croatia in March if all is approved by the Area Presidency. This will help move things forward. You know me I am never afraid to change things. The changes we made in Zagreb Branch have already started to move the work forward in a major way. Not just alittle, but alot. On saturday we went to Varazdin to see two baptisms. This is where we have a senior couple and we started with them an Outreach Center. This opens the church to students 18 to 30 years old. It had 200 visits in Jan.2006. They have a few games such as ping pong, dart board,, foose ball, and a computer. It already has produced baptisms. The Centeral Europe couple over these centers is coming to see how we are doing this because they have only been done where there are stakes in other missions. Sunday I spoke in church while Roylene got to relax. Then she had a investigator to our home with sister missionaries for lunch and a lesson. It went very well. The girl has a baptismal date for 18 Feb 2006. On tuesday we went to the airport and picked up the brother from Frankfurt that is over Family History to work with the sisters on setting up the center for family history. There is a problem with the internet, but it will be fixed I am sure. Yesterday we went to a Catholic funeral in Maribor. An older sister members' son died from injuries from an auto accident. The member sister was surprised to have such support. They held a mass and a lunch afterward. We attended. Not like what we are used to at all. Every thing is so cold including the temperature of the church. Roylene had to take a shower to warm up when we got home. Even after the heater in the car was running on high for the trip back The phone is ringing so I must go Lots of love Dad
