Fri 8/12/05 11:03 AM

Hi Everyone, Many of you are concerned that I have not replied for a week, but we have been on the road again. That is our new theme song. On the road again. Last saturday I held a planning meeting with the Assistants and then we drove over 5 hours to Zadar, Croatia. We went to church there on sunday and so did a Area Authority Seventy from the third quorum. He had all of his family with him. That along with other visitors and us brought church attendence to 51. They usually have about 10. It was great. After church Elder Roth the area authority had us go by ferry to an island where he has an old castle. It was built around the year 0. That is not a typo. A roman governor or ruler of sorts was given this island to build on because they had no land available for him in Italy. He feed us lunch and then we returned to Zadar. On the ferry both going and coming back I visited with other passengers. I am trying to get the missionaries to be freindly and just visit with people everywhere. I got to teach a man and his girl friend for over a half hour. He ask alot of questions. It was great. Roylene is so good to do this also. She can approach anyone. I met with the senior couple for sometime on monday and gave them alot of ideas of how to move the work forward. Then I did interviews until late. The next morning which was tuesday we held zone conference. It concluded at 4pm. We then went into the old down town part ot Zadar. It is enclosed inside of a tall wall.for protection. It reminds me of the discription in the Book of Mormon when Moroni built fortresses. Zadar is where Kresimer Cosic played basketball alot. On wednesday we drove to Zagreb. I did interviews until almost 10 pm. Some of them were with members to get patriarcal blessings and to go to the temple for the first time. On thursday we had a zone conference for the Zagreb Zone. And then we drove back to Ljubljana. Today has been catch up all day. We are teaching the missionaries to get the members involved by going to their homes and teach again about the restoration and Joseph Smith. Then they commit the member to Honor the Prophet Joseph Smith by Preparing some one to be baptized before his birthday in December. It has brought about a complete change in attitudes of members and missionaries. I am telling them to expect miracles. In one of my interviews a sister missionary shared with me that she had a dream about a blonde haired lady. The next day she could not keep thinking about the dream. So the next day she told her companion that she felt they should go to a area in their area that they had never been to. They did and started walk as they felt which way to go. They went quite a way and then came to two large apartment buildings. After entering one and doing some tracting they went to another entrance and after a few doors an Asian man answered and invited them in. They were surprised. He went out of the room to get his wife and the missionary saw a picture of the lady in her dream. Then sure enough she entered the room with her husband. They found out that they were lost members for about 12 years and had gone inactive and moved alot. The lady had a neck brace on because she had been in an accident that should of killed her. They have a 13 year old son that needs to be taught and baptized. Just another miracle in the life of a missionary.
