Dear Family,
Well we survived the mission tour with Elder Hafen our Area President that is a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy. We picked he and his wife up at the airport. While we were waiting for the plane to land we talked to a young lady in her twenties. She is a figure skater and has traveled to America three times. Once to California and once to New York and once to Colorado Springs. We found that she knew a member in California. You would be proud of Roylene as she got her contact information and we told her that we would have the sister missionaries get in touch with her. It was fun to see Roylene in action. She was not pushy but guided the conversation to a point of trust and common interest. It was great. We introduced Elder and Sister Hafen to her and as we got to our car she came by on her way to her car and made an effort to say good bye to us. We then drove to our home and held a mission council with the assistants and all three sets of our zone leaders. Then we drove to Zagreb and checked into our hotel. We then met with our Croatia District President Valek and Kresimir Cosic's wife. She has never joined the church and we wanted to meet her. She is a nice lady. They have two daughters and one son. None of them are members of the church. It is very sad that Kresimir had such a strong testimony, but none of his family joined the church. The next day we held a combined zone conference with both of our Croatia Zones. Then we traveled back to Ljubljana. We ate dinner at a chinese resturant. They have seen us in this resturant about four times. They know us well. The next morning we held the Slovenia Zone Conference. I had the Mowers take them to catch a train while I announced transfers. I also announced transfers in Zagreb before we left there the day before. Today which is sunday we got up at 5am and left by 6am to go to Karlovac in Croatia for church. We both spoke. During sunday school I met with a young lady about 22. She was having trouble and had already talked with the Branch President and he advised her to talk with me. After counseling with her I went in and got the Branch President and we gave her a blessing. After church I met with a non member whose husband is a member to give her a blessing. All six of the missionaries and the Branch President were with us. I had her husband annoint her. In the blessing she was promised membership through baptism and she was told of how the Holy Ghost would really help her. She was also told that she would be a blessing in many others lives and they would join the church because of her influence. It sure is great to be on a mission. I almost forgot that last night on saturday we attended a fireside that the missionaries prepared under the direction of the Ljubljana Branch Mission Leader. It was about the Atonement. There were about 80 people there and 16 were non members. The spirit was really strong and all enjoyed it. Well have a good week All of ours are great. Tomorrow we interview departing missionaries and on tuesday we send them home and we get more new ones. It will be another busy week
Love Dad
