Dear Family,
Well I thought that I sent an email a couple of days ago, but it was lost in computer space I guess. It was a long one too. Hope this one works. I don't have the time or the patience to do this over and over. To bad I don't have better talents then I would not have to do it over and over. Last wednesday I had a meeting with the Slovenia District President. We met to discuss changes in leadership. We then went out the next night and called a new branch president for Celje. I told him that I also wanted him to get me names for a second counselor for him and a district clerk. It took a little discussion, but he agreed. I told him that we wanted to make the changes at District Conference this week end and that I wanted to annouce last sunday that we were making changes so this would give a new excitment and record attendance at conference. He said to me that I was a very smart man. We have made all of the calls except one that I will extend on friday. All have accepted. On sunday we went to church in Maribor were the Ferre's are. After sacrament meeting I went up to a lady named Janja Lorber and ask her if she would promise to do something for me. She said yes. I then said you better watch out because you agreed and you don't know what I want you to do yet. She then said Oh. I then said will you promise me that you will meet with Elder and Sister Ferre and tell them why you are not baptized yet? She said I will tell you and Elder Ferre right now if you want. Her daughter is a member and is about 15 years old, but this lady comes very regularly and is not baptized after 14 years of coming. We went into the branch president's office. I heard her story and then I said you know that the Book of Mormon is true don't you? She said yes. Then I said that you know Joseph Smith was a prophet don't you? She said yes. Then I told her that we loved her and that she needed to be baptized and that others were not baptized because of her not being baptized. I then told her that I wanted her to pray like Enos prayed. Not if she should be baptized but when she should be baptized and the answer could not be along time away but soon. And I comitted her to do it and give me an answer this sunday. I then did the same thing after sunday school to another lady named Lucija Limpus. She said I have some issues. I told her that it didn't matter she needed to be baptized so the Holy Ghost could be given to her so it would teach her the truth. She also agreed and I walked her into Relief Society Meeting and announce that she was going to be baptized and this week she was praying to set the date for sometime soon. I then asked the sister missionaries to follow up with her while she could hear me. Then I went in and taught Priesthood meeting. She said to Sister Weight: "Your husband is a very powerful man". I hope old scratch does not get to them and they follow through with it. The missionaries were all surprised at their mission president. We then went to the Ferre's for lunch. Sister Ferre sure put on a feed. We then had to hurry to Celje to finish making all of the callings. Monday I held Assistant Planning Meeting. And then we had two elders to interview at the end of their mission. And then a testimony meeting and then Roylene put on a big meal. The next morning it was early to the airport to see them off. One of them was Elder Wood an Assistant. The other was Elder Perkins. He will be intouch maybe as he will attend BYU. Then I held a mission council with the AP'S and the three sets of Zone Leaders. We planned six zone conferences and each of them with six followup district meetings. I am told in the new copy of the mission president's handbook to repeat them. So that takes care of one and a half years of planning. Now I can focus on my four talks for District Conference for this week end. And my two talks for Zone Conference next week. I also have a visitor tomorrow to go over phsical facilities. And on tuesday I have a visitor to discuss and look at possible new office space and possibly a different home to live in. We will keep you posted. Tonight we participated in a lesson with a husband and wife with the former office couple the Mowers. It was good. I need to go now. Love Dad
