Dear Family.
Well it is saturday morning. Last night we had a fireside that Roylene put together with the Ljubljana Branch Young Single Adults. It was held at our home. She had the branch activities comittee chairman (which is herself a young single adult) help put it together and conduct. They made assignments to four people to tell a story from the Book of Mormon and then I spoke about Joseph Smith. We had 20 people here with 3 of them being investigators. The one lady who is a teacher by proffession was amazed at my expressions about Roylene at the begining of my remarks. She told Roylene afterwards that she has never in her life heard a man talk about a women like that. As I visited with her afterwards she was telling me how she felt a tingling warm feeling all over her body as I spoke. I told her that was the Holy Ghost. I also told her that after she is baptized that she will have that feeling more often. They are just starting to teach her so she was a little surprised that I would speak so openly about her baptism. Our recent convert in Ljubljana was standing there and listening to our conversation and she jumped in with the comment that the lady needs to get baptized. She also said that I personally was at her baptism. I then committed to the investigator that I would attend her baptism too. It was so natural and so wonderful. I loved it.
On wednesday and thursday we had Zone Conference with the Croatia West Zone. I did some of my interviews then at 3 pm we held a 2 hour meeting and taught the missionaries how to do street contacting without building up walls. Then we went out in the city center and did contacting for two hours. One group set up a small childs bowling game and had children bowl for candy. While two Elders would handle the game the others would talk to the parents. I was with a group that set up a three panel sign about the church. We then sang some hyms while one of our senior couple sisters played a accordian. The rest of the missionaries did contacting to people that would stop and listen and read our signs. It was great. We obtained I think 8 leads from this to follow up on. There were others that received literature and talked for along time. Some committed to come to free english classes. I fact one of the first ladys that was talked to left and came back later with her 20 plus year old son. I am trying to get the missionaries to do many worth while things to find people to teach.
We are also trying to do as President Hinckley said and that is get members envolved. As you are aware we go to every ;member that will see the missionaries and teach about Joseph Smith and the Restoration. It is changing slowly the hearts of many members. Some of them have had a very dim testimony that is being rekindled.
I have asked if you are printing copies of these emails. No one has answered. I hope someone is because this is the only diary and record of our mission. Jay are you doing it? Or is it Mitch? We love all of you very much and we really enjoy your emails. I hope Madison's arm is ok. Skylre and Ryle how is football? Bethany how is Grace doing? We would love an update on McKinzie, Burgen, Dixon, Madison, Mallory, Mya, Parker, Madeleine, Lauren, Annie, Megan, Grace, and Kennedy. Love ya all Dad, Grandpa, Doug, President Weight
Ryan thanks for all you do to further the gospel by teaching the language to our missionaries
